Who We Are:
MiEDA Ministries helps to address the spiritual component of eating disorders. We believe that eating disorders are multi-faceted and that the emotional, physical and spiritual components all need to be addressed in order to experience lasting freedom. One of our founders, Jennifer Lane, struggled with an eating disorder for many years and received regular treatment to address the emotional and physical aspects of her eating disorder. However, it wasn't until she addressed the spiritual component that she found victory and freedom which has carried her through to today.
What We Do:
Transformed: Eating and Body Image Bible Study
A 7 week study for women struggling with eating and body image issues who desire to look at the spiritual components of walking in freedom. The materials will focus on one topic a week paired with scripture and skill building. Group time will involve connection, discussion, skill practice and prayer. The group will meet at Calvary Church in room 140 on Tuesday nights from 7-830pm 10/11/16-11/22/16. All materials are provided free of charge. Must register in advance with Jen at firstname.lastname@example.org. This study is part 1 of 2. Part 2 will be held in the spring of 2017: dates and time TBA.
PRESENTATIONS: We also give faith based presentations tailored to girls/women of any age. Topics include a focus on being fearfully and wonderfully made, taking care of your body as the temple of the Holy Spirit, and knowing that your identity is in Christ not in something else. If you are interested in having us come speak to your group, contact Jennifer at email@example.com for more information.
www.findingbalance.com: A Christian resource for daily help with eating and body image issues. There are many helpful videos, articles, e-devotionals, and online support groups available on this site.
